Principal and Managing Director

Mrs Saranya Sachi Balasubramaniam BOptom, MCOptom (UK) FIACLE PG Diploma in Ophthalmology (UK) Mrs Saranya graduated as the Best Outgoing student from Elite School of Optometry in 1995 and became head of the Contact Lens Department at Sankara Nethralaya. She then went to the UK for higher studies and became the first Indian-qualified optometrist to be a Member of the College of Optometrists, London, UK. She worked as a consultant optometrist in several UK cities between 2000-2006 and also completed Post-Graduate Diplomate in Ophthalmology, at Middlesex University London in 2006. After returning to India in 2006, she established Acchutha Eye Care and established Acchutha Institute of Optometry in 2016, with her husband Dr C Balasubramaniam, offering undergraduate and postgraduate courses and fellowship programs. Among other awards, she was awarded the Dr P.P. Santanam - Jayalakshmi Award from Elite School of Optometry for Best Optometrist for the year 2013.
